~Love you to the Moon and Back~
Dusty Attic-2016 DT page

And I am back again with another DT page for The Dusty Attic...The last one for the year of 2016...!!!

For this page I used the following papers from the Blue Fern Tranquillity Collection...Calm, Contentment and Jubilation.

I treated the Square Note Edge Frame and Mini Scrolls as follows...I painted them with Dusty Colours paint, Faded Denim and Forrest. I then randomly embossed with some clear UTEE and misted with Lindy's Stampgang Moonshadow Mist, Buccaneer Bay Blue. Aren't those puddles of Blue just awesome looking on the chipboards?

I stencilled some Crackle Varnish through the Mandala Stencil and added a little glitter on top. Also added some stitching, something I haven't done for a long time...

The ATC frame and Wildflower sprigs were painted using Prima Art Alchemy Opal Magic Green-Gold. I did not paint but rather dabbed the paint on for some extra texture. On the frame I also embossed with some UTEE. Then sprayed on some LSG Ethereal Emerald Moonshadow Mist.

I used phrases from the Wordplay #4 pack as my title...they were plainly coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Crayon-Frayed Burlap. The flowers on this page are also Dusty Attic in Bloom flowers, Cornsilk and Grassy Knoll.

I am adding the links of the products as available in the Dusty Attic on-line Store...

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,
 a smile,
a kind word,
 a listening ear,
 an honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential
to turn a life around.

~Say Cheese~
Dusty Attic-November 2016 DT Page

Saying Hello again to all my Blogland friends...Hoping you are all have a wonderful week this far. I am sharing my Design Team page for Dusty Attic with you. This is me and my one daughter's cat, Kiara...and nope, she was not to impressed with this photo session at all...!

I used Doodads #3 as main chippies. They were embossed with Golden Sand Embossing Powder from Stampendeous...Just love the effect of this Embossing powder on the chipboard. So easy to get amazing detail without going to too much trouble! I also did dry Heat Embossing with Aged Rose Embossing powder, also from Stampendeous on the background and in the valleys of the Dusty Attic Corrugated Cardstock

I used papers from Penelope Dee, Tea Time Range designed by Glenda Viljoen. I used Chamomile Tea, Hydrangea and Rose And Ginger. To match the shabby and distressed look of the papers, I stencilled with Finnabair's white crackle paste. Don't you just love the gold speckles from the Aged Rose embossing powder?

Keeping with the Shabby Chic look I added some Tulle, Builders Tape and coloured gauze to the page, the gauze was coloured with a spray from my Lindy's Starbusrt Mist: Bodacious Blush. Also added Art Stones from Finn and US Artquest Prills: Baby it's Cold Outside and Plum Crazy.

I coloured the Nameplate #5 with Lindy's Bodacious Blush after gesso'ing and inked the edges with Watering Can Archival Ink. The mini Tag was just inked a little with Victorian Velvet Distress ink and Watering Can.

From the Dusty Attic Store...

~It's Good to be Me~
Art Journal Page

My Art Journal is not so much for journalling...I really struggle with words and expressing myself...For me it is to play with all my media and see how they react and just playing with colour and textures...My way of clearing my head at times...On this page I played with two new products...Glimmer Mists from K-Craft and Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.

This page started of after seeing a video by Marta Lapkowska - Breaking a Blank Page Part 5. Note...started of...lol...for after plastering on a thick and textured layer of Gesso, and creating a background with Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemon Distress Ink refill inks, I had to let the page lie for a few days and when I got back to it again it moved in a completely different way than first intended!!!

I had bought me some Distress Crayons and the Glimmer Mist and had to play with them and try to learn how they behave and react.

"I was planning on firing Kiara the cat as my co-writer...
but as Ezme Hartman observed-
'Clever kitty.... c= cat, x= kisses,
she's sending you a ❤ note,'"

....lol...enough fooling around, back to business...
I found the K-Craft glimmer Mist to be very vibrant and highly pigmented. The colours are truly stunning with some sheen to them. I wet my paper before adding the mist and also afterwords as it is easier to move and manipulate the spread that way. On here I have used Bronze, Sunny Yellow and Violet. The Yellow was used on the Lace and the Bronze on the Art stones. One can see the awesome shimmer of the Bronze in the close-up shots. The Lace Doily was coloured with the Violet with some added Red Rust Paste. I also used the Violet on the page with some Dark Velvet Metallique Paint from Finnabair.

Also used the following Distress Crayons from Tim Holtz: Black Soot, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge. I used the Peeled Paint with water on the background and the other two with stencils.

Thank you for your visit...Wishing you an awesome day...

what I am to others
as what I am to myself.

and not by borrowing.
