~~~ Home is were you are ~~~ Enmarc Card Challenge
Using this month's card sketch I made this sweet card.I colored the chippie by spraying Dazzles Summer Fields and Wild Grape onto my craft sheet together with some Picket Fence distress Stain.After wetting the chippie with some water,I dragged it through the paints until I was satisfied with the colors.Once dry I embossed with clear embossing powder and finished it of with another light spritz of Wild Grape Dazzle.The leaves were just chalked and curled with my awl.It makes the layers split a little giving it some dimension...Thanks for the tip Alma ;-)
I used Enmarc's
Swirl and Flourishes: Flourish 9
Here one can see the effect the extra spritz of Dazzle has on the chippie!
Thank you to any one visiting me here...:-)
~~~ My Ten/Eleven... Favorite LO's of the Year...2011 ~~~

I am going to take a huge leap and send in an application for a Design Team call that Imaginarium Designs has going...I will make it in the nick of time...for I didn't really have the courage to try...But what the heck,why not! I think it is time that I start believing in myself and my art. What started out as a "I will just do a page or two" in 2006 has developed into a love affair with paper and as of this year with chipboard elements!  Here is a collage of ten of my favorite LO's of the year... Unfortunately not done with Imaginarium chippies but with Dusty Attic and our local Enmarc Craft chippies....I love what Imaginarium has to offer though and think I should try and get me some of their chippies as well to play with. I LOVE distressing and feel my page is not complete without some tearing or rolling or just generally messing up a plain piece of paper. The same can be said about the chippies. I treat them as blank canvasses and try to see to what extent I can mess with them! They are usually painted and crackled and layered and... well see for yourself....I am going to add an eleventh project for you have to see how beautiful this card is with a bejeweled Christmas tree...

I was asked to be on Enmarc Crafts DT For 3 months, being May to July... fortunately for me I am still on their team!!! And I will be on Crafti Treasures Panel Team for 3 month, January to March with February being my month to host a challenge.

Here are some of my LO's of the year...

~ 15 August Challenge ~ Once Upon A Sketch

I know...I haven't been on my blog for ages!!! Will have to rectify that! I once again made a lay-out for Once Upon a Sketch using a sketch by Nadia Cannizzo! I used an Ornate Gate from Dusty Attic which I painted with green and black Dabbers and dusted some perfect Pearls on.The journal challenge was to write at least two lines from a favorite song...I used Close to You from the Carpenters.I felt that it is quiet fitting to my daughter Chantelle...Thanks for taking the time to have a look!!!

Here is the sketch that I used...

*** May Sketch Winner ***

What a wonderful surprise I had on Monday when my Rock On Layout was chosen as the winner of the Dusty Attic monthly sketch challenge!!! I am still on cloud nine about it and I suppose the day that packet arrives at the Post Office I will need a class of some thing to calm me down!!! My poor Pazzles machine is standing idle nowadays because with all the delightful laser cuts from Dusty, Enmarc and Celebr8, I hardly use it at the moment! I am having fun with all the wonderful girls on all the forums...It is so nice and refreshing to get and give feedback and cometary to each other.

*** ROCK ON ! ***

I had so much fun creating this LO to Michelle's sketch at Dusty Attic!!!Thanks again for a great one Michelle.This is my dd Michelle at a Rock concert.I used a section of the Chain Fence DA 0450 and pieces of the Ornate Fence # 2 DA 0441.I cut them and placed them next to each other as a border.The DA's were painted with Black and Terra Cotta Dabber and sprayed with Heirloom Gold Mist.My background paper was masked and misted and a border was stamped.

~~~ Enmarc Crafts Design Team ~~~
Thank you so much Enmarc for inviting me to be on the DT for a very great product! I am so going to enjoy this journey and hope that someone , somewhere can pick up a tip or two from me...just as I do with every layout I see.May we all keep on creating wonderful memories ...
Whow...so this is what it feels like...Great!!! I can just think that it can be fun to receive products and then be asked to design with it! Although it will only be for 3 months, I hope that it might be the first of many to come.Hope that in my little way,I can encourage every one to just go out and play and have fun!!!
September 29
Another LO using Celebr8 diecuts.And I must say I am quiet pleased with the outcome of my chippies! First I covered the chippies with Rangers new Distress Stain - Peeled Paint -.When it dried I sprayed some Dazzles glimmer mist on it. Finally I dry brushed some Espresso Dabber on to them. Once again I layered the flowers...they just look so pretty that way! I also used the frame from an earlier project, stained it as well and embossed it and voila...a frame for my pictures! Clever,don't you think? Thanks again for watching.
April Challenge ~ Once Upon a Sketch
Here is my take on the first challenge from Once Upon a Sketch. The sketch was designed by Piradee Talvanna Of Thailand...Thank you Piradee it was a nice sketch to work from!
The biggest challenge for me was of course the journalling! I have never been good at it and it will surely take a few more challenges for me to be comfortable with it!
This is a photo of my youngest daughter Michelle a few years back.I used Prima Papers from the Botanical Collection.The Pink Paislee Elements were coloured using Adirondack Alcohol Inks.The heart chippies are from Enmarc.Thank you for looking!
Pink Paislee ~ Artisan Elements
I played with different techniques to see what the best medium is to colour the elements with.On the left I used Tim Holtz's new Distress Stain - Peeled Paint. Second is also Distress Stain - Vintage Photo. On the third one I used Adirndack Alkohol Inks...they worked,I just feel the effect was too harsh for the delicate look of the elements.The element on the right is in it's natural state. I personaly like the look that the Distress Stain gave me.
~~~ Believe ~~~

For this Layout I used the Fence Chain from Dusty Attic and a Chandelier from a craft shop.They were painted,embossed,chalked and glimmer misted.The top piece of paper was embossed in a folder that I chalked before putting the paper through the machine.

*** Sunkissed ***

For this picture of Chantelle, age 6, I distressed the leaves of the DA Vine Flourish DA 0485 as seen on Natasha's tutorial on Layered chipboard flowers.I then sprayed it with glimmermist to colour it.

~~~ OPEN ~~~
My take of the March sketch challenge.I sprayed the Ornate Fence DA 0441 two layers of American Accents Stone spray paint to give it a very rustic look.The Cottage Window DA 0196 I chalked and aged with Ranger crackle paint.This is Chantelle at her Matric Farewell in 2004 ending her school years!
Treasure
Here we are...my first ever layout using Dusty Attic!I used the French Flourish Border DA 0275..I used Ranger Pearl Acrylic Paint to cover the chippys.I also sprayed some Perfect Pearl Mist on them.The papers are from Prima's Collection Range.The flowers,butterflies and flourishes are also from Prima.This is a picture of my daughter Chantelle in her first school year in 1993.
